A lot of people around this time were graduating and I thought that life was a race--the faster I graduated, got my dream job, earned my income, settled down securely, the better I was. I thought that I could have done so much better (others kept telling me the same thing) and failing to see that through broke my spirits. Feeling that I had surely been left behind, I had to think about the things I had been left behind at.
